Zaporozhye State Medical University

Zaporozhye State Medical University is one of the oldest and top medical universities in Ukraine. The university is situated on the picturesque bank of the river Dnieper, the biggest river on the European continent. Its history dates back to the Women Pedagogic courses organized in Odessa in 1903. In 1973, the elementary faculty of international students was inaugurated. 

The main objective of the University is to provide higher medical education to medical aspirants from Ukraine and abroad.

The Training at the university includes the Pre-university, undergraduate, and postgraduate courses. At present, there are more than 10200 students studying at the university.

The Medical degree offered by the university is globally recognized by Indian and International Regulatory bodies like WHO, UNESCO, MCI, etc. The tuition fees for all these degrees are quite feasible and is thus affordable by those traveling from different countries. It is a self-governing state higher educational establishment with the fourth level of accreditation.

Students obtaining medical education from Zaporozhye State Medical University, Ukraine are eligible to apply for International Medical Licensing examinations like USMLE (USA), PLAB (UK), MCI Screening Test and all other Medical Licensing Exams around the world.

ZSMU does not demand any additional entrance exam like English language proficiency tests (IELTS/TOEFL) for the admission of international students. Every year, University enrolls approximately 6,000 students, out of which nearly 1,250 are international students from various countries across the globe such as India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and others.

The University has eight faculties and fifty-nine departments. The graduates of the University are well known outside Ukraine. It is also a participant of the International program Tempus.

At the University, students are given ample opportunity to participate in various programs such as seminars, medical conferences, research projects, clinical work, and other activities that are conducted at the university as well as in foreign countries.

For practical training of the students, the university has few hospitals and clinical centers to provide hands-on training to the students at the university. 

The university has a collection of books, journals, research paperwork at the university's library. It is one of the most important buildings at the university as it contains various important study materials that will help the students in their studies.

Besides having the library, the university also has a publishing house where all the medical, scientific, and professional journals are printed.

At the university campus, there are 5 university buildings, 5 hostels, libraries with reading halls and computer rooms that have internet connections, medical center, student's dispensary, sports centers, stadiums, cafes and canteens. The university also has a canteen with Indian cuisine which is popular among the students at the university. Apart from these, the university also has an Indian cultural center in one of the hostels.

The Campus of Zaporozhye State Medical University is protected by specialized guards for 24 hours. The 5 hostels at the university campus accommodate about 3000 people. All the hostels are fully equipped with the required amenities. 24/7 video surveillance is installed at the campus for the safety of the students.

Zaporozhye State Medical University has good sports facilities for students with an exceptional sports complex within the University. Near the academic buildings and student hostels, there are several sporting and extra-curricular facilities like - football court, volleyball, basketball, three gyms, swimming pools, fitness club, tennis courts, and other facilities.

Annually, the university conducts the sports tournament for the students to keep the students active.

For amateur activities, there is a Students' club at the university. Different clubs are organized at the university for those who like to dance, sing, and play any musical instruments. Through the students' club, various festivals are held at the university. Among them, festivals of student's creative work "The Autumn Rhythms", exhibitions and other competitions are conducted. 

Furthermore, the students at the university are given the opportunity to participate in the exchange program where students get to go outside of the country for a few months for an exchange program. 

The major benefit of studying the MBBS course at Zaporozhye State Medical University is the hands-on practical training. Zaporozhye Regional Hospital has more than 800 beds. Thus, having high flow patients. This hospital is the clinical base of 7 departments of ZSMU.
