Dnipropetrovsk State Medical Academy was established in the year 1916. With more than 100 years of establishment, the university is one of the leading universities in Ukraine. 

The foundation and establishment of the university were led by the world-known eminent scientists such as VP Karpov, Oleg S.Abrazhanov, O. Drzhevetsky, L. Gromashevsky, L.S. Halperin, M.F. Rudnev, G.F. Tsomakion, N.S. Kakhiani, M.S. Stanishevskaya, M.O. Kabanov, O.I. Talyantsev, I. Troitsky, S.M. Kompaneets, M.V. Donici, AV Padlewski, etc.

The university received Level IV accreditation-the highest level of accreditation among all the universities in Ukraine. 

Through the high-quality of education, the university attained a world-class level of recognition. The university is duly approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI), enlisted with WDOMS, and other global recognitions.

The university is equipped with the state-of-art infrastructure. It has 8 academic infrastructures to conduct the classes and to perform the research work at the campus. The buildings also include the medical laboratories equipped with modern research facilities.

For the clinical training of the students, DSMU has 42 well-furnished clinical departments at 28 hospitals in the city of Dnipropetrovsk. At these hospitals, the students are given hands-on training to get practical exposure and be familiar with the clinical work.

DSMU offers 6-year MBBS in Ukraine at an affordable cost. The university has more than 600 highly-qualified professors who are training the enrolled medical students at the university in English, Ukrainian, and Russian languages. The university is known for its innovative teaching, clinical training, and research programs.

Since 1990, the university has conducted training for foreign students. Presently, more than 4500 students are studying at the university. Among them, more than 700 students are from 36 countries of the world. Up-to-date, DSMA has trained about 49,000 doctors who are working in different countries of the world.

The degree awarded by Dnipropetrovsk State Medical Academy is acceptable in any country. Therefore, students who graduated from DSMA can practice in any country subject to qualifying the Medical Licensing Examination of the respective country. International students who want to practice in India, have to qualify the MCI Screening Test. To practice in the USA, students will have to qualify for the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE). 

At the university, the students are encouraged to take part in various programs for their professional development. Programs such as conferences, seminars, volunteering programs, and other research work are conducted by the university.

Besides the academic facilities, the students are also encouraged to take care of their mental and physical fitness.

Eligibility Criteria for MBBS

To get admission to the MBBS Program of Dnipropetrovsk State Medical Academy, the student must qualify NEET-UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate). 

Besides NEET-UG, there is no requirement to go through any additional entrance examination.

Student Life

Situated in Dnipro city on the Dnieper River in central Ukraine, Dnipropetrovsk State Medical University provides a wide range of opportunities for the students during their stay in Ukraine. 

Dnipropetrovsk State Medical Academy accommodates its students in seven different hostel buildings where more than 2,700 students can be housed. Out of 7 hostels, 3 hostels are specifically for international students. The rooms of the hostels are fully furnished and protected by security guards. The room has all the basic amenities like beds, desks, chairs, cold and hot running water, central heating, internet access, and suitable lighting for both studying as well as relaxation. Though the mess facilities are available, the kitchen is attached to each floor at the hostel for the students to cook their own food.

Apart from these facilities, the university also offers other facilities such as health-care and recreational facilities. These include a gym, training halls, rehearsal halls, musical instruments, etc.

The Student's club of the University organizes many cultural, intellectual, and sports activities for the students in order to keep their body & mind fit. Through the efforts of the leaders and creative youth groups, interesting events, and concerts are organized.

Students who are associated with the University’s club are quite enthusiastic and include talented choreographers, vocalists, screenwriters, and directors.

Annually, the students are given the opportunity to participate in regional tourism song festivals. Sports tours, excursions, and wellness programs are organized by the university student's club.

The university has a library with more than 200,000 collections of books, magazines, research papers, etc.

Every student at the university has something to participate depending on their interest. 

Student representatives are available to resolve the queries of the students while staying on or off-campus. The curators who attend the hostels at the university campus take an active part in student meetings, educational conversations with residents. 

Annually, competitions for the best rooms at the hostels are conducted.
