NEET Compulsory for MBBS in Ukraine

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is a common entrance test for admission to the undergraduate medical courses in all the medical institutions. Students who wish to study MBBS or any other equivalent courses such as Dental courses (BDS), must clear the NEET exam.

NEET undergraduate exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). NTA was established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. It was established as an independent, autonomous and self-sustained premier testing organization registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860.

 

Objectives of NTA

 

The objectives of NTA are mentioned below:

(i) To conduct efficient, transparent and international standard tests in order to assess the competency of candidates for admission.

(ii) To undertake research on educational, professional and testing systems to identify gaps in the knowledge systems and take steps for bridging them.

(iii) To produce and disseminate information and research on education and professional development standards.

Students who wish to apply for the MBBS courses in AIIMS and JIPMER, admissions will be through NEET (UG). They must clear the NEET exam to get admissions to AIIMS and JIPMER. NEET (UG) has replaced AIIMS and JIPMER entrance examinations. Thus, the number of applications for the NEET exam is expected to be high.

NEET has become the only entrance examination to get admissions to any medical institute in India or for MBBS from abroad. Through NEET (UG) examination, here are the seats available under different quotas:

i. All India Quota Seats

ii. State Government Quota Seats

iii. Central Institutions/Universities/Deemed Universities

iv. State/Management/NRI Quota Seats in Private Medical / Dental Ayurveda /Siddha /Unani/Homeopathy Colleges or any Private University

v. Central Pool Quota Seats

vi. All seats including NRI Quota as well as Management Quota, in private unaided/aided minority / non- minority medical colleges shall also be filled on the basis of merit obtained in NEET(UG) – 2020.

 

Who can apply for NEET (UG)?

 

Indian students who wish to pursue undergraduate medical courses must apply for the NEET exam.

Also, the Indian citizens who want to pursue Medical courses from the foreign medical institutes must qualify for the NEET examination.

Presently, the upper age limit to apply for NEET (UG) is 25 years for the General category. However, for the reserved category, age relaxation of 5 years is given, which is 30 years of age. The Supreme Court has provisionally allowed the candidates with 25/30 years of age to appear for NEET. However, the final admission will depend on the final ruling of the Supreme Court.

 

NEET Score Validity

 

The Medical Council of India made a proposal to set the NEET score validity for three years. The Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry accepted the proposal made by the Medical Council of India. This is to help the students save their time from taking the test, again and again,

This move is to encourage the medical aspirants to pursue their dream even after three years of clearing the NEET exam.

 

Is NEET compulsory for admission to the program of MBBS in Ukraine.

 

The National Medical Commission Act, 2019 has made NEET examination compulsory for every medical aspirant to get into any medical university.

Either for MBBS in India or MBBS from abroad, the medical aspirants must clear the NEET exam. Getting admissions to any of the top medical universities, students will first be tested for their knowledge about their subjects. 

Therefore, to get admissions to the top medical universities in Ukraine, the students must appear and must clear NEET.

MBBS in Ukraine

 

Ukraine is one of the renowned destinations for MBBS from abroad. Many top medical universities in Ukraine offer a 6-year MBBS course in English medium.

Indian students who wish to study MBBS from abroad, move to Ukraine to pursue MBBS from Ukraine.

The top medical universities in Ukraine are recognized by the Medical Council of India. The MCI recognised medical colleges in Ukraine enables the students to be recognized in India after their graduation. They are also enlisted with the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS) and also approved by many other Medical institutions. 

However, to be eligible for the admissions to these top medical universities, Indian students must clear the NEET examination.

 

NEET Eligibility

 

To apply for NEET, students must attain the age of at least 17 years of age. Students must also score at least 50% marks in subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

 

NEET Qualification Criteria

 

NEET qualifying criteria are determined by the NEET cut-off percentile. Below is the qualifying percentile for NEET:

To qualify NEET, NTA has provided some instructions which every candidate must know.

According to the NTA Information Bulletin:

NEET (UG) will be conducted as per the regulations of the National Medical Commission Act- 2019, Indian Medical Council Act-1956 and the Dentist Act-1948 and other relevant acts.

Merely appearing and qualifying in NEET (UG) - 2020 does not confer any right to the candidate for admission to Undergraduate Medical Courses. The selection and admission to Undergraduate Medical Courses seats in any Medical Institution recognized for offering Undergraduate Medical Courses is subject to fulfilling the admission criteria, eligibility, rank in the merit list, medical fitness and such other criteria as may be prescribed by the Government of India, respective States, Universities, Institutions, and Medical/Dental/Ayurveda/Siddha/Unani/Homeopathy Colleges.

 

NEET Exam Pattern

 

According to NTA, the total number of questions for the NEET exam will be 180 questions. The exam will be a 3 hours duration. So, candidates will be allowed to answer all the questions within the three hours allotted time.

The question papers will be covered from three subjects- Physics, Chemistry, and Biology of the 11th and 12th standard. Biology is further divided into two sections- Botany and Zoology.

Thus, to get admissions to any top medical university in Ukraine, students must clear NEET. NEET is a compulsory entrance examination for an Indian citizen to study abroad.
